 The Brooks Rodeo is by far the biggest events in Brooks all year. It has a beer gardens, tons of rides and games to play and an actual rodeo during the day. Every year the rodeo also has a special on rides called Midnight Madness, where you can go an all the rides you want for around $25.00. The Rodeo is also accompanied by a Parade through Brooks. If you enjoy the Calgary Stampede but would also appreciate something similar but on a smaller scale definitely stop by Brooks when the rodeo is on. Its a ton of fun, great for the kids and its far more affordable.
Brooks Fishing Derby
The Brooks fishing derby takes place every February long weekend. The derby takes place at Lake Newell which is around 10-15km South of Brooks. They hand out around $10,000 in cash prizes. Stop at the lake and try your luck. You will see tons of fishing shacks spread all over the lake. If you get board of fishing you can always strap on some skates and play ice hockey. Others
The Brooks trade show takes place once a year at the Lakeside Leisure center. Local trades and trades from around the area set up to show off what they have to offer. Its quite interesting to check out some new gadgets or technologies that are features. You can also get candy apples and mini doughnuts. This event is attended by around 5000 people each year.
Canada Day is another fun day in Brooks. At the rodeo grounds there is food, music, games and entertainment for kids. One year they even had a free paint ball course for kids to play in. Celebrate Canada in Brooks.
